このたび、斎藤亮輔による個展『PRISM-II』をAaP / roidworksgallery にて開催いたします。本展は、斎藤にとって同ギャラリーでの4回目の個展となります。

AaP / roidworksgallery is pleased to announce “PRISM-II,” a solo exhibition by Ryosuke Saito. This marks the artist’s fourth solo exhibition at the gallery.

2022年より、AaPは新作発表の場として斎藤と共に歩んできました。回を重ねるごとに深化を遂げてきたその制作は、今展『PRISM-II』において、光をめぐる視覚と身体感覚の探求として、より鮮明なかたちで結実しています。

スマートフォンやVRなどのデジタルデバイスは、私たちの視覚体験を更新し、現実と仮想の境界を揺さぶります。本シリーズでは、そうしたテクノロジーがもたらす身体感覚の拡張を、人物像のデフォルメや幾何学的形態によって描き出します。偏光色を用いた画面は、角度や視点の変化によって色彩を移ろわせ、情報や感覚の多様性を象徴します。

会場では、鑑賞者の観る位置や動きによって作品の表情が変化し、現代における「光＝情報」の多層的なあり方を体験いただけます。

AaP has partnered with Saito since 2022, providing a venue for his new work. His practice has deepened with each exhibition, and this evolution now culminates in ‘PRISM-II.’ The exhibition gives clear form to his exploration of the visual and physical sensations surrounding light.

Digital devices like smartphones and VR are reshaping our visual experience, blurring the boundary between the real and the virtual. In this series, Saito depicts the resulting expansion of our physical sensations through distorted human figures and geometric forms. Painted using polarizing colors, the canvases shift their hues depending on the viewing angle, symbolizing the diversity of information and sensation.

The works in the gallery reveal different aspects depending on the viewer’s position and movement, allowing for a direct experience of the multilayered nature of “light as information” in our contemporary world.
This exhibition marks a new milestone for Ryosuke Saito, and we would be delighted if you would come and view it at the gallery.
